Quo Vadis, a book by Polish Nobel Prize winning novelist Henryk Sienkiewicz, is a love story set in Nero's Roman. It was first published in 1895. D. Mastroianni was an Italian artist who produced pictures using a technique he pioneered called sculptochromie. This consisted of sculpting a scene and lighting it entirely for the camera, the sculpture usually being destroyed after its photograph was taken. He produced many hundreds of pictures for postcards using this technique.
