Artesian Well, San Bernardino Water Dept. Fair CA, RPPC
Title: None.
Description: Vintage real photo postcard showing a "Reproduction Artesian Well" made by the San Bernardino Water Department for a fair held in (most likely) Riverside County, Southern California. Depicted along with the well are fruit and, in the background, a horse in harness and a "Corona" sign.
This is one of a group of six postcards being listed showing photos from the same fair. All of them feature fruit prominately, and most likely it's all citrus fruit. (Bamboo as a building material is also prominant.) While all the cards are untitled, names in the photos (Riverside County, Hemet, Corona, San Bernardino) place the fair to the west of Riverside County, with perhaps Corona, the "Lemon Capital of the World", being the most likely location. The AZO stamp box dates the cards to between 1918 and 1930.
Era: 1920s.
